# Mobile-Only Messaging Now Available at Telnyx

# Target mobile subscribers only with Messaging Profile API update

Telnyx [messaging](https://telnyx.com/products/sms-api) customers can now restrict outbound messages to mobile phones only. The new mobile\_only parameter on the [Messaging Profile API](https://developers.telnyx.com/api/messaging/create-messaging-profile) ensures that messages are delivered exclusively to mobile phone numbers.

## How it works

The mobile\_only parameter in the Messaging Profile API defaults to false. When creating or updating a Messaging Profile, update it to true. This configuration will send messages only to mobile numbers, automatically excluding landlines.

## Key benefits

* **Reduced messaging costs**: Filtering out landline numbers eliminates manual list scrubbing or external number lookups, lowering your overall messaging spend and improving return on investment.
* **Improved deliverability**: Sending messages only to active mobile subscribers reduces undelivered traffic and increases overall delivery success.
