Whether you’re building a simple or enterprise grade messaging platform, the Telnyx SMS API is a feature rich, programmable SMS API created with the developer experience in mind. With SDKs, quickstart guides and tutorials, the Telnyx SMS API is designed to integrate messaging into your applications with ease.
The Telnyx SMS API also offers features that help improve deliverability, increase customer engagement and lower your costs. Use features like Number Pool, Geomatch and Sticky Sender in tandem to upgrade your messaging capabilities and improve your customer experience. To help you fine tune your messages, you can also view how often recipients are opening the links you send them with Message Engagement Reports. This can also be tracked in real time by setting up your messaging profile to receive webhooks when your links are opened.
When using the Telnyx SMS API for A2P (Application to Person) messages, turning on the Number Pool, Geomatch and Sticky Sender features will help improve deliverability and customer engagement by simultaneously spreading your outbound messages across a broad group of numbers, matching the area code of the outbound number to the area code of the customer and maintaining that specific number for all outbound messages to that specific customer.
In this guide, we’ll go over how to easily turn on these features for your application using Python for our examples, but you can access guides for other coding languages here.
When sending messages, use the send endpoint for Number Pool API. You will need to omit the “From” field from the request and instead specify the Messaging Profile (via the messagingprofileid parameter) with the number pool you'd like to utilize for sending your message.
