A major Cloudflare outage disrupted the internet today. Learn how Telnyx quickly rerouted traffic, restored services, and why our Diversity, Redundancy, and Resiliency approach matters.

This morning, a major Cloudflare outage disrupted large portions of the internet and affected many services that rely on Cloudflare’s Layer 7 infrastructure.
Some Telnyx APIs were routed through Cloudflare’s L7 firewall, and were briefly impacted as a result. As soon as the issue was identified, our engineering team rerouted traffic to bypass the affected path and restored service availability.
Most customers should already see normal performance. However, while our TTLs are intentionally kept short, not all networks honor them consistently. That means some clients may still have stale DNS entries pointing to the degraded path.
If you’re seeing any lingering issues, a quick DNS cache refresh should resolve them.
Events like this underscore why Telnyx builds differently. Our approach starts with Diversity, then Redundancy, and finally Resiliency, in that order. By owning and operating our own global network and infrastructure end-to-end, we’re able to adapt quickly around upstream failures and minimize customer impact.
