Local United Arab Emirates regulations

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced new telemarketing regulations to enhance consumer protection and enforce ethical marketing standards.

  • Telemarketers must obtain prior approval from the competent authority before conducting telemarketing activities and use local phone numbers registered under their commercial license
  • Telemarketing calls are restricted to the hours between 9 AM and 6 PM, and companies must not contact consumers who have opted out or are listed on the Do Not Call Registry (DNCR) managed by the TDRA
  • Companies are required to maintain detailed records of all marketing calls, ensure staff are trained on ethical practices and DNCR use, disclose their identity and the purpose of the call, and respect consumer consent  These measures aim to reduce unwanted marketing communications and uphold consumer privacy in the UAE.
