Telnyx Introduces Bidirectional Streaming

Today, Telnyx is happy to announce that we now support bidirectional streaming for our Voice API–allowing users to send audio in both directions of the call using websockets.

Telnyx Voice API customers can now send responses from communications platforms using the same connection used for media forking.

Through one websocket, Telnyx customers can respond to inbound media faster as a separate playback API request is no longer required. This enables Telnyx customers to reduce response times and build highly-performant, responsive applications.

Telnyx customers can get started with bidirectional streaming today by setting up an application in the portal and following the tutorial. If you have more questions about our Voice API reach out to our team.
