Mobile phone numbers now available in India

17, Sep 2026

Telnyx now offers mobile phone numbers in four Indian telecom districts, giving businesses a local presence in India with two-way voice calling over the Telnyx private network.

Businesses can now establish a local presence, make and receive calls within India, and provision numbers through the Mission Control Portal without building or managing their own local telephony infrastructure.

Calls are routed over the Telnyx private backbone from origin to destination, helping businesses maintain consistent voice quality and lower latency compared with routing voice traffic through international hops.

What's new

  • Mobile numbers in four Indian telecom districts: Available in Mumbai City, Gurugram, Noida, and Bangalore.
  • Two-way voice calling: Make and receive calls on Indian mobile numbers within India.
  • Telnyx private network: Voice traffic is routed over the Telnyx private backbone rather than through third-party providers or international routing.
  • Self-serve provisioning: Numbers can be provisioned through the Mission Control Portal.
  • Voice AI support: Indian numbers can be paired with Telnyx Voice AI Agents, enabling businesses to build AI-powered calling experiences with a mobile number.

Regulatory requirements

Indian mobile numbers are subject to local provisioning requirements. Businesses must provide a valid business or residential address within one of the four authorized telecom districts and complete the required KYC verification before numbers can be activated.
