Telnyx has added a Melbourne, Australia anchorsite for SIP connections, expanding local voice anchoring in the APAC region. Melbourne joins Sydney as Telnyx's second anchorsite in Australia and the 18th+ PoP globally, providing additional redundancy and lower latency for customers across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.
Customers running SIP trunks in Australia previously relied on a single anchorsite in Sydney. Adding Melbourne provides a second domestic anchoring point, reducing latency for traffic originating in southern and eastern Australia and offering redundancy for mission-critical voice infrastructure. Calls stay on Telnyx's private backbone from end to end, avoiding public internet hops that degrade voice quality.
