Share and Reuse Tools Across Your Voice AI Assistants

Managing tools across multiple Voice AI Assistants just got simpler. The new AI Tools Library lets you create tools once and share them across all your assistants.

What's New

Previously, tools were tied to individual assistants. If you wanted the same transfer logic or hangup behavior across multiple assistants, you had to configure each one separately.

Now you can:

  • Create tools in a shared library and assign them to any assistant
  • See which assistants use each tool at a glance
  • Edit shared tools with clear warnings about which assistants will be affected
  • Create new versions instead of overwriting when you need assistant-specific behavior

Migrating Existing Tools

Existing assistants with legacy tools continue to work as before. You can migrate tools to the shared library at your own pace:

  1. Open an assistant with legacy tools
  2. Click the + icon next to any tool
  3. Choose Save to Library to add it to your shared tools
  4. Or select an existing library tool to replace it

Getting Started

  1. Log in to your Telnyx Mission Control Portal account
  2. Navigate to AI, Storage and ComputeAI Assistants
  3. Select Tools Library to create and manage shared tools
  4. Assign tools to assistants from the library or the assistant builder

New assistants are created with library tools by default, making it easy to maintain consistency across your Voice AI deployments.
